Refund policy

Effective date: 01.02.2026 

Scope
This policy applies to orders of physical goods (art) purchased in my online store.

No voluntary return policy
I do not offer a voluntary return policy that exceeds statutory rights. Only the statutory right of withdrawal applies (see the instructions below).

Return shipping costs
You bear the direct cost of returning the goods unless otherwise agreed in an individual case.

Process & refund

• Please notify your withdrawal by e-mail to franni.card.art[at]mailbox.org stating your order number.
• Refunds are issued using the same means of payment used for the original transaction and will be initiated no later than 14 days after receipt of your withdrawal notice; I may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods.
• Refund only after return & inspection: After receipt I inspect the item. If there is any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to check the nature, characteristics and functioning, I may deduct compensation for the loss in value.

Packaging & condition
Please return items – where possible – in the original packaging and suitably protected. This is not a condition for exercising the right of withdrawal but helps prevent transport damage.

Statutory exceptions
The statutory exceptions to the right of withdrawal (e.g., made-to-order goods, sealed hygiene items, perishable goods) apply generally; they typically do not apply to my current standard art products as I do not offer made-to-order items in the shop.

Small business VAT scheme
No VAT shown pursuant to Sec. 19 German VAT Act (Kleinunternehmerregelung).

Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires physical possession of the goods (for multiple consignments: the last good; for regular delivery: the first good).

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform me (Franni Card Art, Waisenhausgasse 50, 50676 Cologne, Germany, franni.card.art[at]mailbox.org) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g., by e-mail or letter). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal
I will reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery up to the amount of the least expensive standard delivery offered by me (but not any additional costs for express delivery), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which I are informed about your decision to withdraw. I will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction; you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. I may withhold reimbursement until I have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods.

Return of goods
You shall send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

Diminished value
You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exclusions
The right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts, inter alia, for: (1) goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized; (2) sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery; (3) goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly; and the other cases laid down by Sec. 312g(2) BGB.
